Would you like to help vulnerable women access free and low-cost counselling in a supportive, women centred environment? With the Coronavirus pandemic severely impacting people’s mental health, Women + Health’s counselling services are needed more than ever.
Women + Health are currently recruiting for paid qualified female Clinical Supervisors to support our long-term and short-term counselling services.
Women + Health is a charitable organisation that aims to empower women towards better health and wellbeing. We provide a range of low or no cost body and mind therapies for those who might not otherwise have access to affordable health care options.
Women + Health is a member of iCope Camden Psychological Therapies Service (NHS). We work in partnership with three other local counselling organisations to deliver short-term counselling of 6-10 sessions. From June 2016 this service has been open to men, currently on Thursday and Friday evenings only.
Women + Health also provides a low-cost long-term psychotherapy service, offering contracts of up to 1 year. This service has run for 25 years, and is currently unfunded, however clients pay a contribution on a sliding scale of £15 - £45 per session.
Volunteer counsellors and psychotherapists see 3 clients weekly, and must be available for either group or individual supervision on a fortnightly basis. Supervision is provided free by Women + Health to all volunteers in the short-term counselling service. As the long-term service is not funded, those therapists are be expected to pay a contribution to their supervision.
We are recruiting supervisors for an immediate start. The role is currently paid at £30 per hour. Please note this post is for women only, exempt under the Equality Act 2010 pursuant to Schedule 9, Part 1.
