Make A Difference.

Volunteer with Women + Health and play a key role in empowering women across our community.

I am a volunteer counsellor at women and health. It is a truly unique place to work. The truth is, Counselling and Psychotherapy are unaffordable for most people - particularly given the cost of living crisis when it is hard enough to afford food, shelter and basic care, for many the idea of accessing this kind of mental health support would be a fantasy. And yet, Women and Health allows women, many of whom are at the most vulnerable moments in their lives, to access this essential support, some completely for free, and others for a genuinely affordable rate.

The reason I love working at W+H is exactly this - I feel like I am providing support for those who would not otherwise be able to access it, the consequences of which in many cases would be devastating. The clients I meet and the work we do together is so valuable to me because it does not feel like a luxury for these women, it feels like a necessity. I feel so proud to be part of a service that makes this possible, and with such care and respect for the women who need this help the most. There is truly nowhere like it.

Become a Trustee

Are you passionate about making a lasting difference in the lives of women who have faced abuse, hardship or significant health challenges?

Women & Health is seeking dynamic and ambitious trustees to join our board and help shape the future of our vital work.

We are particularly interested in candidates living in Camden with proven experience in fundraising, PR or media and individuals who can bring fresh ideas, a strong, engaged network and a big vision to expand our reach and impact.

As a trustee, you will:

* Help drive our fundraising strategy including corporate partnerships, high-net-worth individuals and events.

* Collaborate with our Director and trustees to grow our supporter base.

* Attend a bi-monthly committee meeting (around 2.5hrs in length) and participate in additional planning sessions as needed.

This is an incredibly rewarding opportunity to contribute to a charity that provides life-changing counselling, wellbeing services and holistic treatments to women who need them most.

We are committed to diversity and encourage applications from individuals with lived experiences, including survivors of domestic or sexual violence, those who have used complementary therapies and people with disabilities or experience of counselling and mental health challenges.

Interested?

Email us at trustee@women-and-health.org.uk with your CV, or get in touch to learn more about the role.

Microvolunteering

Not everyone has time to volunteer regularly- and that’s okay. Small actions can still make a big difference.

Microvolunteering is about using small pockets of time, skills, or networks to support our work.

Examples include:

• Sharing our campaigns on social media
• Helping promote events in your networks
• Offering professional skills (e.g. design, marketing, translation, coaching, mentoring, photography, writing policies, pro-bono support)
• Connecting us with potential supporters or partners
• Supporting a short-term fundraising activity

Even a small action can help us reach more women who need support.

How To Apply

If you have some time to spare we would love to hear from you.
