Mindfulness and Meditation. 

What is Mindfulness and Meditation?

Mindfulness and meditation are practices that support awareness, presence and nervous system regulation.

 

Rather than trying to stop thoughts or “empty the mind,” these practices help you notice what’s happening- in your body, thoughts and emotions- with more kindness and less judgement. Over time, this can create greater clarity, calm and resilience, especially in the midst of stress, change or overwhelm.

Mindfulness brings attention to the present moment in everyday life.


Meditation offers a dedicated space to slow down, rest attention and reconnect with yourself.

Both are simple, human practices- not spiritual achievements or performance-based skills.

What happens in a session?

Sessions are gentle, guided and adaptable to your needs.

We begin by arriving- often through breath, body awareness or a brief grounding practice. From there, you are guided you through a meditation or mindfulness exercise, which may include:

  • breath awareness

  • body-based practices

  • guided reflection or imagery

  • noticing thoughts and sensations without needing to change them

 

You can sit or lie down, with eyes open or closed. There is no “right” way to experience the session- restlessness, emotion or wandering thoughts are all welcome and normal.

Sessions usually end with a short reflection, helping you integrate what you noticed and explore how the practice might support you beyond the session.

Many people leave feeling calmer, more spacious or more connected to themselves — even if the mind felt busy during the practice.
