Giving through the Self Assessment Tax Return

Individual taxpayers in the UK who complete a Self Assesment (SA) return are able to nominate a charity to receive all or part of any repayment and ask for Gift Aid to apply to their donation. This facility is only available to individual taxpayers who complete an SA return; it is not available to partnerships, trusts or estates.

To nominate Women + Health to be the charity to receive an SA repayment, the questions at section 19A of the full SA return should be completed, or questions at section 13 on the short SA return.

Women + Health's tax code is PAT77UG

Regular donations

Regular donations help Women + Health to plan ahead.

• Direct debit - if you would like to make a regular donation monthly, quarterly or annually straight from your bank account please click here to download the Direct Debit form in PDF.

• Give As You Earn - if you earn a salary, or if your pension is paid via PAYE, you can give directly from your pre-tax salary, so money that would normally go to the taxman goes to charity instead. You decide how much you want to donate each month and this is taken out of your salary before tax. If you are a basic rate tax payer, a gift of £5 would only cost you £4 because the tax is passed on to the charity. To find out more about Give As You Earn and to check on whether your employer participates in the scheme Click Here

Gift aid

However you donate please help us reclaim Gift Aid by completing the Gift Aid section of the postal or direct debit forms or the online donation process.

Gift Aid is a government scheme that increases the value of donations to UK charities by reclaiming the basic rate tax on your gift. At the moment, basic rate tax is 20 per cent. This means that if you give Women + Health £10 using Gift Aid it is worth £12.50 to us once we have reclaimed the Gift Aid. For donations between 6 April 2008 and 5 April 2011 we also get a separate government supplement of three pence on every pound you give.
