Dance Movement PsychotherapyDance Movement Psychotherapy (DMP) is the psychotherapeutic use of movement and dance to promote emotional, cognitive, social, behavioural and physical integration of the individual. It strengthens the body-mind connection through movement to improve both the mental and physical well-being of individuals. It allows clients to express their inner feelings through movement, to develop awareness of thought patterns, to increase self-esteem and vitality, and to experience a safe environment where they can develop trust and awareness of others. Starting in January, every Tuesday, from 10.30am-12pm, until May, the group has a maximum of 6 participants and is facilitated by Maria Soares. It is an open group until 7th February, and closed from that moment onwards. Open for women over 16 with issues like depression, anxiety, stress, anger management, loss, eating disorders or body image issues, personality disorders, poor self-esteem.
